Whether using the services of a Calgary Plumber, Electrician, Painter, HVAC squad, Contractor or Sprinkler System Pro, leaving a review for others to see is a great way to share your experience – good or bad.
Rewarding or criticizing – it’s important to share your experience
Other than a personal thank you note, call to their boss or a bouquet of long stem roses (ok, maybe not), one of the ways we can thank great home improvement pros is by leaving a glowing review for them on Who to Call.
On the other hand, if you had an unpleasant experience, it’s equally important to let them know and bring it to the attention of future potential buyers.
We know from experience that these reviews go a long way and impact people’s buying decisions. Many Contractors and Business Owners have told us reviews are the lifeblood to getting more work. Makes sense.
But hey, what if you’re just a bit lazy, leery or just don’t have a clue what to say when leaving an online review?
We’ve can help.
Be genuine and tell the whole story
We love hearing stories but anything too over the top or, on the other side, blatantly harsh can go as disingenuous. No need to keep it short. If it’s a great story, people will read it. Plus, stats have shown that even long-form text still reigns supreme so use your words and whitespace accordingly.
Use a pros and cons list
One of the more simple and effective ways to write a review is by including a pros and cons list. For the skim readers in the crowd this is a great way to get the meat to them fast. Plus, if you’re short on words, this method is actually quite simple to execute. The key is to be as accurate and clear as you can using so few words.
Offer quick advice
We often see reviews that offer advice for both the homeowner and service provider. An example would be “… this Renovator works great when there is clear communication and direction as opposed to lack of communication and ambiguity.”
Keep all this in mind next time you leave a review for that Calgary home improvement company and the next readers and the company will love you for it. Good luck!
