Spring has arrived very early in Calgary this year and our home focus has gone from interior maintenance and cleaning, to the yard.
Landscaping costs can vary considerably in Calgary both for large renovation projects and ongoing maintenance. Some variables that affect landscaping costs are:
- The size of your yard
- Types of materials being used
- Grading of your property
- The company you are using
If a deal seems too good to be true, chances are it might be and that will be reflected in the quality of the work.
A few things to keep in mind when making hiring decisions
Do Your Research
Check On Insurance, WCB Coverage and City of Calgary Licensing
If a company is reputable they have taken the time to secure the above credentials and it takes very little time for you to check up on a company or ask them to provide you with this information.
These details are more important with larger landscape renovation projects but is critical and speaks to the quality of the business you are about to work with.
Don’t Pay a Deposit
It should not be necessary for a landscape renovation company to collect a deposit from you prior to commencing the project. This was news to me as I have been asked to pay a deposit before a company began some work on our property. If a deposit is requested, it may indicate that the business you are working is not financially secure and the risk of finishing your project without issue is higher.
